The Texas Instruments SR-16 II was a lower cost entry level scientific calculator produced in the 1970s by Texas Instruments.
Features
Using the same shell design as other calculators of the same generation, such as the TI SR-51A, the SR-16 II shows a significant cost reduction in scientific calculators. Externally, the calculator does not have key legends moulded into the keys themselves, but instead uses solid black keys with the legend printed above them on the metal faceplate of the keypad. This model has a significantly reduced set of integrated functions compared to nearly all other contemporary TI scientific calculators, with only the most common scientific functions being included. The reduced function set does not require as many keys, resulting in nine fewer keys than other models using the same design.
